The Rain Comes

M.–

I am thinking about friendship. How quickly someone you thought you know becomes a stranger; how absence can strengthen or weaken it; how there are some people whom you outgrow, then again, how they outgrow you, too.

I am thinking about anger. How, if you don’t keep yourself in check, you can cross boundaries in haste and in time come to regret it; how words, when spoken at a different tone could mean a different thing.

I am thinking about breakfasts. How it is a sacred space, how it can be shared, how it can be intimate, how it can be public.

The rain comes. Tomorrow will be better.

Good morning,
T.
